About HTML Entities
Convert characters such as < and & into HTML entities, or turn supported entities back into readable text.
How to use it
- Choose Encode entities or Decode entities.
- Paste markup or entity-encoded text into the input.
- Run the tool, review the plain-text result, then copy or download it.
Good to know
- Encoding covers the five common markup characters. Decoding supports numeric entities and a selection of common named entities, not the complete HTML5 entity list.
- Unknown named entities remain unchanged. Decoding makes one pass and is not an HTML sanitizer; check how another application will use the result.
